Valentina Classical Concert

When an experienced customer, really knowing what he or she wants, contacts me then I know I have a great opportunity in front of me. Not only to build an unique guitar, but to enjoy the process more than you can imagine. This is the case of today's story. Tom is a German player who reached me looking for something very clear: a super clean guitar, focused on playability, spanish true sound and inmaculate clean looking. The rest was all up to me and I got complete freedom.  And when you fully trust your luthier, then the project just flows like magic. The receipe of less is more, becomes the leitmotiv  in this guitar and represents everything in this project.

"Valentina is the affectionate name that I have for my roses rosette design"

THE VALENTINA ROSETTE

Valentina is how I lovingly call my custom roses design. I made it years ago and it has been very succesful among both classical and flamenco players. It is very different in between guitars, but the essence is the same for all of them. In this case, it is a realistic hand painted roses motif with no relief carving or carving. You guess it right, I had to use very small brushes and lots of patience to complete this painting. You can almost smell the roses fragance!

GRAINLESS SPRUCE

This amazing piece of Spruce, very clean and with one of the most closed and tigth grains I have ever seen. Inside we find a very traditional Torres bracing producing a rich, nuances full typical Spanish sound. The perfect canvas for the Valentina roses rosette

With very minimalistic approach, this project really stands out

Less is more, always. The theme of this project

BIRDSEYE MAPLE

This is the hardest to describe for me. You don't understand how beautiful this wood is until you have it in front of you. The grain, the light reflections, the shine... I still cannot find the words. Just enjoy watching this one of a kind piece created by mother nature

EBONY BINDINGS

One feature I love about this project is that all details on it blend together as one unit. You don't notice them until you take a closer look. Nothing stands out with stridence, everything is integrated in a perfect balance and harmony. All bindings and veneers were created with black ebony. It is one of the hardest and most challenging woods to use for bindings but the effort was totally worth it in this case. The pitch black clean lines serve as a perfect frame for the rest of woods

BRIDGE

This guitar features the 18 holes bridge to provide maximum transfer of energy and also a self-lubricated Graph-Tech saddle that provides an improved linear frecuency response. A traditional white bone is also supplied with the guitar so the customer have both options regarding saddle tone. The bridge is decorated with a white bone laser engraved with a matching floral design

HEADSTOCK

Tom asked me to use the traditional Torres headstock design. I agreed of course since I love it, and the black ebony veneer really dresses the head in the most elegant way possible. This guitar features world-class tuners by german maker Scheller, with sealed rollers, solid white Mother of Pearl buttons and a beautiful hand engraving by Nina Kaiser. You haven't feel the sensation of perfect tuning until you try this kind of high end tuners
